Terms of Suffering.

By submitting your film, you agree to the following terms. Read them. We wrote them. Ignorance won't save you from the roast.

Eligibility

  • The submitter must be at least 18 years old at the time of submission.
  • If you are a student, you must be prepared to present a valid Student ID upon request.
  • The submitter must own all rights to the submitted film, or have obtained all necessary permissions from the rights holders.

Submission Rules

  • All genres are accepted. Maximum runtime is 30 minutes. Select your main category accordingly.
  • Multiple entries are allowed per submitter. Each entry may be submitted to multiple categories (main and additional).
  • Any film in a language other than English must include English subtitles. Exception: films whose primary language is French.
  • The festival reserves the right to refuse any submission deemed inappropriate, without obligation to provide a reason.
  • Once officially selected, a submitter cannot withdraw their film under any circumstances.

Fees

  • All submission fees are non-refundable, under any circumstances.

Jury & Awards

  • The jury assigns all awards for each competitive category. Their decisions are final and cannot be contested or changed.
  • Annual participants are determined by the jury based on quarterly winners and honorable mentions.
  • Winning categories vary each edition depending on the submissions received.
  • Annual awards are presented in person at the annual festival event only. No postal delivery.
  • The festival has no obligation to disclose any information about the jury or selection committee.

Rights & Intellectual Property

  • All ownership rights and intellectual property remain exclusively with the original rights holders. Submission does not transfer any rights to the festival.
  • By submitting, you grant the festival a limited, non-exclusive right to use excerpts from your film (trailer, teaser, poster, stills) for promotional purposes only.
  • The festival will not release the full film online or redistribute it in any form without explicit written consent from the rights holder.

Festival Rights & Changes

  • The festival reserves the right to add, modify, or remove rules and conditions at any time, without prior notice or consent from contestants.
  • The festival may cancel the venue, reschedule dates, or modify available awards and categories at its sole discretion.
  • Continued participation after any such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
